Kaboodle Challenge

Acrylic on Canvas

Bought some acrylic paints last week so thought I would have a go! The background is put on with a dry cosmetic sponge, the flowers hand painted & the borders stamped with white paint. Click on the pic for a better look! What do you think?

Recycled coaster

I recycled this coaster for the Lots to Do challenge this week. The black & white paper is handmade & recycled, the ribbon a remnant from a tag and the buttons are old fabric covered ones I picked up at a boot sale along with the coasters.

Oriental Box Frame Picture

Have done this for the weekly challenge on the Lots to Do Challenge blog, the theme being "oriental".

The frame is made from 4 Jenga type wooden blocks, glued together painted with acrylic then "antiqued with rub-on wax in gold.Hand made paper on the back, a "screen" of patterned vellum then the decoupaged lady. Satin ribbon around the outside completes the piece.

The frame is a bit rustic looking but that makes it look older which I quite like!

Collage on canvas - butterfly

Struggled with this for a while until I felt it was somewhere near right!

It is about 16in x 12in. The background is a very thick handmade paper with some foliage & petals trapped in the layers. I have done a print with a fern & fabric paint, used embroidery thread, faux jewels & pearl paint to make the 'lavender' style stems with paints, inks, stamps, buttons & ribbon etc for the rest. The butterfly was a print- enlarged, coloured with Twinkling H2os, then glazed & distressed.

Card

This card was made for a competition on Crafting Corner - it had to have ribbon, sentiment & stamped image.

Altered cds - title "Elegance"

Altered cds done for a monthly swap on Crafting Corner forum. The theme is "Elegance". The top one is my favourite, the image comes from a sheet of old wrapping paper, the rose has been cut out & embellished with ultra-fine glitter, a little paper lace added to the edge.
No idea where I got this cake image from but thought it extremely elegant! Added it to matt black card, stamped the swirls with white Brilliace ink , highlighted the lilies etc with gold glitter glue.

"My name is.." Fob book

This was done for a swap on "Lots to do" & the design inspired by a mini revision book I saw in a store, the 'pages' being like key fobs - hence the title!
