Its been a while .....
I have been re-thinking the whole crafting thing.....and whilst I still make some cards etc and use digital crafting mostly I am concentrating on encaustic/mixed media art these days. I have exhibited at a couple of local venues and sold a couple there which was a great boost !

The Cupboard Trilogy Challenge
http://thecupboardtrilogychallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/challenge-2-embossing.html
The challenge this month is embossing, dry embossing, heat embossing or any other sort you can think of ! I did this scrap LOof my grandparents using some Brenda Pinnick paper for the main piece and plain blue card from my stash which I punched & embossed with a MS punch, used an embossing folder to emboss the the card behind the journalling, then a stencil, versamark ink and clear embossing powder for the flowers, outlining them with a white gel pen.

Inky flowers.....

I was messing about with a variety of inks yesterday, with the intention of creating some background papers...got a bit carried away ! I brayered Kaleidacolor inks onto some watercolour paper in a random fashion, added some shimmer mists , spritzed it with loads of water then blobs of Perfect Pearls. The result made me think flowers so I accentuated these by dragging the ink about with a wet paint brush and used some ink on a dabber to make the centres.

Collage on canvas - vintage flowers

This canvas is covered with a whole sheet of lovely vintage paper which was then soaked in thin pva and distressed to allow the canvas to show through in places. Added a photo which has had the backing stripped off so that only the thin layer of print is left, the hearts & brads & the word "bloom". The swirls were hand cut from mountboard, coloured & stamped, ribbon entwined & finally the red roses added.
