Inky flowers.....

I was messing about with a variety of inks yesterday, with the intention of creating some background papers...got a bit carried away ! I brayered Kaleidacolor inks onto some watercolour paper in a random fashion, added some shimmer mists , spritzed it with loads of water then blobs of Perfect Pearls. The result made me think flowers so I accentuated these by dragging the ink about with a wet paint brush and used some ink on a dabber to make the centres.

Collage on canvas...

I got some gorgeous new stamps from La Blanche last week, they are really meant to be Christmas one but this one is much more cherub than angel I think! The background is tissue paper, scrunched and sprayed with shimmer paint, glued on then some of it was scraped away to make a "cloud" for the cherub. More tissue paper , white this time was scrunched and stuck underneath the stamped image. The border is another La Blanche stamp, I then added some silver lined clear beads , black beads and the bird to complete.

Sea shells on the sea shore.....

An altered box of a different sort! This one originally had some stamps in it and has been waiting for inspiration to strike! I have backed the compartments with seaside themed paper, the boat and deckchair are made from balsa wood, paper & coffee stirrers!

Altered box..

Found this little box in a sale, it is about 11cm square. I first painted it with white acrylic followed by Cosmic Shimmer spray, overstamped with more white and again with the script stamp. Finally I topped it off with a chipboard butterfly.

Triptych

Well, I think thats what it is! I started off with some canvas board , cut it to shape with a craft knife then inked, spritzed, splodged, salted and stamped it all over the inside, added some lovely satin material across the centre along with some scrim , the main image (courtesy of DEZINAWORLD ) which is edged with gold mirror mosaic plus the words and birds. The front and back has a stencilled heart with gold embossed chipboard corner pieces, the front finished off with a key, padlock and ribbon.

Holidays....

Made this a while back but couldn't photograph it...now have a lovely new camera!...so here it is. Originally a tin of embellishments it somehow cried out to be made into a suitcase!!! I covered it with some K&Co paper with vintage maps on and used various stamps , stickers and cut outs to embellish the outside then covered everything with several coats of PVA to seal. The handle is wire covered in red leather with a couple of wooden beads at each end , a small chain with some "dog tags" on one side. Inside is lined with brown paper , then the holiday images with some shells .

First attempts at brayering.......

Well , not quite the first attempt...that went in the bin !! I have tried a similar technique before but had a lino roller instead of a speedball brayer and it didn't work very well, which put me off. However, bought the brayer and some Kaleidacolor inks at a local craft fair at the weekend , this is the result so far......................

Collage......

Inspired by this picture found on the front of a damaged book of sheet music in a charity shop...dont know why but got to wondering who she was and what her life was like...I will never know!! Anyway... I used a piece of mountboard , sprayed with cosmic shimmer mists to fix the picture to, embellished with some lovely antique lace (given to me by a kind aunt!) buttons beads and butterflies, a faux porcelain flower and 2 wooden hearts, covered with some of the sheet music and clear embossed. Across the bottom is some lovely beaded trim. I wanted to use fabric for the edging but didn't have anything suitable so pleated this K&Co paper instead.

tags..

I have been messing about with a combination of acrylic paint and cosmic shimmer mists for the background to these tags.......the first was overstamped with versamark & perfect pearls added to give the gold crest then the metal charm added. The seahorse on the second is a rub-on, I have used tiny shells, gems, and glitter glue to decorate. Lastly, I over-stamped with script, the bird is laser-cut wood , added the word & the trailing branches are made from flowersoft........knew I would find a use for that eventually !!

Wooden heart.....

Once again, apologies for the rubbish photo, borrowed camera ! This heart is made of a light wood, I think balsa . I put a thin coat of white paint on first then stamped the swirls and the bird stamp (freebie from CS mag) then added various distress inks to give it a vintage look. Finally I used a coat of 3D gloss to protect the surface and added the the sheer ribbon.

Yet another card.......

I decided to blog this one as I think it came out quite well, by accident !! I found some old decoupage sheets from when I first started with this card making lark and thought I would use it up. Started by stamping the swirls (La Blanche)with peeled paint distess ink, then remembered I had the Tall Grasses stamp (EZMount Art Stamp) then blended with a little peeled paint and dabbed around with broken china ink to create the sky before fixing the ducky decoupage ! Hope you like it.

Tag book....

Apologies for the lousy picture! Had to squish it in the scanner as still no camera! Made this little tag book at the weekend workshop with Katy Fox at www.bubblyfunk.co.uk. The tags are samples of distress ink techniques, which are labelled on the back so I dont forget what I did!

Really enjoyed the workshop, lovely people ......and coffee and cake!! Thanks to Caroline and Katy for a fab day.

some more cards....

Just a few cards..the bottom one was for my nieces' birthday and the others inspired by a workshop at www.bubblyfunk.co.uk last weekend .
