Just my personal opinion...
Watching a programme on BBC 1 called 'Imagine' ..Outsider Art... it is making me cross despite the fact that they are showing some fantastic art and concepts. What is annoying me ? The idea that any artist that has not been 'trained' ie. been to art school... is producing art which is somehow of less importance than something  contrived and directed by conventionally trained teachers ! It also seems to suggest that any 'outsider' art is the product of mental illness or trauma... I so disagree !! Surely art is the pure creation of the artist in whatever medium, whether trained or not ? No matter the state of mind , colour or creed  or gender ? Although all things may influence the art that's true....but.... Beauty in the eye of the beholder surely ?

Haven't been feeling at all good this week..the fibro is giving me gyp...and then tonight I have been watching Children in Need Rocks..... children should never have to see the inside of a hospice should they?....least not as patients... makes you count your blessings somewhat ! And makes one feel guilty for feeling down but I guess its only human ...... the problem is the more I hear about bad things the worse it I avoid the news as much as possible ..... is that selfish ? I guess it is but self -preservation and all that ......
On a lighter note ...Barry Manilow.... oh dear lol !! xx

Well..been a funny old week..felt like a month of Sundays ! Felt a bit down in the dumps and slept a lot..not so bad today til just now...feeling soo cold and not too good, just hope I am not going down with something !
Been debating with myself...should I get a house cat or not ? Never sure if it is cruel to keep a cat permanently indoors but am reliably informed that one can keep a cat that has auto-immune problems quite happy and safe ...still pondering on that one....
I have been doing some patchwork so will put a pic up when I get to it.
Tata for now xx

Well hello...what a long time it has been ! I wonder how many of you who used to visit are still out there ?
Since my last post a lot of water has passed under the bridge as they say and my life has completely changed..... I have now set up home in a little flat on my own and have been prettying (is that a word lol ) it up. No craft room and a shortage of space generally has had me re-thinking my crafting options yet again. I have started to teach myself patchwork and quilting, also have rediscovered knitting and crochet in a small way. I think this blog may become more day to day musings with a bit of craft thrown in !
Hope you stop by to say hello xx

Image transfer

I wanted to try using an image tranfer technique...tried it before with dodgy results lol ! I think this one worked out quite well.
Cant remember where I got the image from, sorry. Anyway, I used a piece of satin lining fabric, tore round the edges of the image and then painted on an even coat of pva glue, put it face down on the fabric and rolled over it with a brayer to ensure it was well n truly in contact with the fabric. I then got called away to do something else so it was several hours before I came back to it....which is probably why it worked so well, normally I would not have the patience to leave it so long!!
I then spritzed the back of the image and rubbed with my finger to remove the paper backing...a slow job....spritzing as required until the image revealed itself, then dried it off gently with a hairdryer. Finally I stamped and inked around the image, frayed the edges and added the embellies and attached to a coordinating card blank.

I have made this tag for the Dragonsdream Tag it On challenge - Alice & the rabbit situation !
I used a plain manilla tag, Broken China & Frayed Burlap Distress inks, spritzed and blotted then ran the tag through an embossing folder to get the clock impression. I used mini playing cards, tree embellishment and stamps from Alice quartet stamps.
