Bottle card - 70th birthday

Suddenly remembered we have a 70th birthday party to go to on Saturday and no card made so.......
Didn't have a template for this so printed off a picture of a champagne bottle to get the shape and background colour then embellished it with black shiny card, glue pen & glitter, gold stars and peel-offs (which I rarely use but it works on here!)The top is covered with some gold foil off a chocolate and finished off with black organza ribbon and a gold tag.

Fat pages - male theme

Three fat pages were required for Andreas' swap on LTD - 1 green 1 blue and 1 freestyle with a man/male theme. The green is a browny green background paper overstamped with stripes to create a plaid pattern then the picture of the 2 men captured in utee and edged with gold - a bit rustic looking but I like it!The blue one is a background coloured with a dye-based ink then stamped with a Hampton Arts "sun" stamp in silver topped with the oriental warrior. The freestyle one is a paper by Dovecraft topped with the military man picture which was dipped in utee.
Guess who had a melt pot for Christmas then.......................ha ha!

Altered box

Decided to alter this detergent box as it is the perfect size for storing atcs!
I first painted it with several rough coats of white acrylic paint inside and out then "daubed" with several coats of black acrylic using a cosmetic sponge which gives a surface that feels a bit like old leather, a bit distressed. I then embossed with a versamark pad through some plasterboard scrim, overlapping and varying the pressure to give distressed/aged effect & heat embossed
with silver. Finally I added a black button which was stamped and embossed with silver also.

Decorative boxes

I decorated these little papier mache boxes using acrylic paints then stamped with Versamark and heat embossed. The inside is lined with vintage paper from K&Co.

Note Pads & Photo Frames

Not a brilliant photo!
Here are some frames and note books I made for Christmas presents for my sisters & daughter. They are made from mountboard and coered with papers from the Cosmo Cricket range and a few sticky gems and chipboard embellishments.

Lots to Do Challenge - music

The theme for the Lots to Do weekly challenge is music. I decorated this arch with a print of Bach on music score background, then coloured with rub-on wax in various colours, printed out the cleft ,covered with 3D gloss & attached with a chain & brad. The back is stamped with musical notes.

Indian Card

This card is a commission for someone who has a "thing " for American Indians! Wasn't sure what to do but this is what I came up with - just hope she likes it! The hair and fringing is made by fraying out satin ribbon and glueing on, the neck decoration is a mixture of beads and 3d paint. I then finished it off with a string of beads....

Collage on canvas - Elegance

This little canvas (5in x 7in) was simple to do - the background is very thin tissue paper glued to the canvas with thinned PVA then coated with more thinned glue to protect the surface. Added ribbon & 'lace', stamped & embossed the cream chipboard frame for the picture and finished off with feathers, metal swirl & a tiny gem.

Blue skinnys

Blue skinnys for Andreas' colour swap on Lots to do. The first has a background created with rub-on waxes, the second has used twinkling H2os then stamped and embossed on top.The last is clear embossing used as a resist for rub-on waxes.

Collage on canvas - vintage flowers

This canvas is covered with a whole sheet of lovely vintage paper which was then soaked in thin pva and distressed to allow the canvas to show through in places. Added a photo which has had the backing stripped off so that only the thin layer of print is left, the hearts & brads & the word "bloom". The swirls were hand cut from mountboard, coloured & stamped, ribbon entwined & finally the red roses added.

Notebooks

Notebook and mini post-it notes, the latter with mountboard covered with handmade papers.

Cards

Birthday card for hubbys 50th and a few Christmas cards.......

Collage on canvass - Black Rose

Love this rose image - stamped it then used pigment pens and water brush to shade it. The netting you see is plasterboard"scrim" which has been heat embossed with white embossing powder, then sequin ribbon mini envelope and antique button added.

The Beach Hut - thoughts of Summer

Can't wait any longer to blog this! It was made for a mystery swap on Crafting Corner - the recipient never guessed who made it so time to 'fess up! The base is made from a tray that had embellishments in and the doors from balsa wood which were painted with thin white acrylic paint to give a sea-side feel, then edged with dyed string, brads for the door knobs and a rub-on. Various bits and bobs used to fill the "shelves" with summery images. I really enjoyed making this.............hope you like it!

Atc - 9-4-9 swap

This 9-4-9 atc swap is hosted by Claireabelle on Crafting Corner. The atcs had to be made around a line from a song. I chose a song from the album Pure by Hayley Westernra titled "Who painted the moon black?" - this is the result. I found the basic design of the central image (I think it was meant to be a sun!) and the swirly bits amongst stuff on my pc then altered it using flock for the moon and the leaves, glitter glue and silver 3D paint for the edges of the moon & silver confetti stars & holographic/clear hearts for the 'sky'.
