Thank you to Patsy for giving me a Brilliante Weblog & Wylde Woman Award. I am honoured and pleased that people are enjoying my blog.
The purpose of the award: To send love and acknowledgement to women who brighten your day, teach you new things and live their lives fully with generosity and joy.

Jacobs Ladder Book

No way really to illustrate how this works but it is a "jacobs ladder"! If you open the book up fully & hold the first page then tilt it the pages sort of flip flop from top to bottom - even having made it I can't get my head round how it works! Anyway it was fun to make....

Abstract painting on canvas

Another whim! Not meant to mean anything profound, just whatever you see in it. It is painted with watercolour paint mixed with glitter glue and highlghts are done with metallic paint. 5in x 7in.

Baby shoes

Now for something completely different........
Found the template for the baby shoe whilst looking for something else and thought it would make a change to do something pink & girly!
They are made from cream leather-effect card trimmed with pink scalloped ribbon & beads. The "button" is a pearl heart & the spotted bows are wooden embellishments from my craftbox. The acetate box originally had a candle in it.

Collage on canvas - asian influence

Yet another collage (are you bored? Sorry!) This one is 7in x 5in. The background was spritzed with pink H2o dissolved in water then lilac "flicked" with a brush over the top of it. Sun shape (Rubber Stampede) stamped with lilac fabric paint & symbols on the right with black Brilliance ink. Other images from Artsy Collage book (HOTP). Finished with sheer ribbon and crystal flowers.

Skinnys

My first "skinnys" for swap on the "lots to do"forum. A green theme!

Encaustic art on canvas

Did this just to try the wax on canvas - not a great work of art but considering it was done with an encaustic iron I am not too displeased with it.

Collage on Canvas

The photo of this canvas is not very good - there is quite a bit of gold in the background which doesn't show up. Click on the photo for a better view.....

Scrapbook page

This 12 x 12 page has been done for a scrap challenge on Crafting Corner - the theme was orange. Didn't have anything suitable so used the photos from an old calendar - hence the quote!

Balsa wood box

Made this box from balsa wood, Cut out the pieces and covered outside pieces with some pretty paper and the insides with a mottled beige paper, both from K&Co, glued it all together with PVA and used tiny panel pins to secure the corner posts. Added the ribbon to make "hinges" for the lid and a little decorative bit to lift the lid with.

Box made from cat food carton!

I was about to throw the box in the recycling then decided to recycle it for myself! As you do..............
This is how it started! I cut the box in half leaving one side still attached then stuck the two sides together. I used some Laura Ashley Traditional paper to cover the box and lined it with cream hammered card. The lid was cut from hammered card also and attached with large brads. I added ribbon round the edges and attache a loop & brad fastening. The box is a good size for atcs, fat pages or cds or anything else that will fit really!
