This is my first art journal (the cover is a few posts back) and I am not at all sure I have the right idea !! If not will someone please let me know? It feels a little like a mini scrapbook......

Art journal workshop

I went to have a look at a new craft shop in the town and ended up booking a place for this workshop ! Thoroughly enjoyed doing it and the company too - thanks to Caroline for hosting the workshop.
Anyway, this is the front cover of my journal, the idea is to do a page a month, so will blog as I go!

Collage on canvas - Sanctuary

Another theme which has been floating around in my brain, strange what goes on in there ! The background is some gorgeous K&co paper followed with some PaperArtsy stamping then the "tree" etc is made from plaster bandage which has been painted with H20 s

Altered thimble shelf.....

Not the best photo in the world but hey ho ....... I bought several thimble display shelves at a car boot back in the summer..
This is the transformation of one of them.

Natures Spirit

This piece is part painting, part stamping and lots of bit of other stuff - so guess it qualifies as a collage! It is just something I had in my head for ages so decided to to "download" it, lol !!

These images are from an altered board book , again for a swap on lots to do revisited and hosted by Hilda - the theme is "Vintage Fashion". Enjoyed doing this one very much and for once reasonably pleased with how it turned out!!

Faux porcelain flowers

From the article in Craft Stamper by Hels Sheridan - (thanks Hels!) thought I would have a go - as usual didn't have quite the right kit but improvised a bit & got a reasonable result. The black and white one was using the free flower stamp fron CS too.

Another mask!

After the mask workshop (see post below) I decided to have a go on my own! Not sure about the result really but anyway.......................

Will keep trying and hopefully get it right eventually!

Mask workshop

I went to a Venetian mask workshop last week, it was run by Kate Plumtree who is a costume designer (amongst other things). It was great fun. The mask base is made from mod rock (plaster bandage), then it is painted etc when dry. It was actually moulded on the face of a guy who works at the art gallery where the workshop was - he was press-ganged into being our model!! I think this on looks quite tribal and very masculine.
